Live edge furniture can incorporate almost any wood, but our furniture is generally sourced from unique planks found primarily in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. We also purchase salvaged wood that could not be used in conventional woodworking. There are special challenges involved in working with this type of wood, and several methods for live edge have developed. Some artists leave the natural holes and cracks in the wood, while others fill them with resins. Our most popular woods tend to be maple, walnut and pine; we also use cedar, oak, poplar, pecan and others. Through the use of various stains and finishes we can get dramatically different looks from each type of wood.
